Northeast Texas Asset-Building Conference in Tyler!!!
Together with partners RAISE Texas and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, we have completed three of our four regional asset-building conferences. The third was held in Midland/Odessa with 100 individuals and organizations discussing ways to expand economic success and asset-building activities in the Permian Basin.
We move to Tyler on July 21 for the finale, where we join the Texas Economic Development Council as part of their Summer Meeting agenda. Featured speakers include John Molinaro with the Community Strategies group of the Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C. and Joe Black, president of Southern Bancorp’s Capital Partners in Helena-West Helena, AR. John will discuss an acclaimed policy framework to help struggling families move into the economic mainstream, and Joe will explain why America’s largest development bank found it necessary to move beyond traditional capital- and workforce-based programs to accomplish its regional redevelopment goals. The conferences will be followed by initiatives to expand economic success and asset-building activities into small cities and rural communities, a project to be supported in part by Bank of America and Citibank.
The conference is FREE, but please register at Federal Reserve Bank.
