October 1 - Austin, Texas Municipal League Center (Map). The Austin Forum will focus on federal stimulus funds and their impact on rural Texas, and more (see agenda).
November 10 - Bastrop, Riverside Conference Center (Map). The Bastrop Forum examines alternative routes to community economic development: family asset-building programs (see agenda).

TRIF embarks on a special new venture: the West Texas Success Tour. Forums will take place in Plainview, Abilene and Midland, and each stage of the tour will consist of a Forum on the first day and a tour of small-town successes on the second. Look for details here soon.

The Heartland Center for Leadership Development presents its national institute, Helping Small Towns Succeed, in Fredericksburg. This intense, hands-on workshop attracts attendance from across the nation, and we are extremely fortunate to have this unique opportunity in Central Texas. TRIF will offer four $250 tuition scholarships. Institute information is available at the Hearland Center for Leadership Development, with earlybird registration rates until November 1.
